Export your invoices to CSV or XLSX
How to download a filtered CSV or XLSX export of your invoices — available on the Small Business plan and above.
Invoice export lets you download your invoice data as a CSV or XLSX file for use in a spreadsheet or accounting tool. It's available on the Small Business plan and above.
Before you start
- Confirm your plan includes invoice export.
- Decide whether you need a quick export from the invoice screen or filtered export from settings.
Steps
Quick export from the dashboard
- Go to your Invoices dashboard.
- Click Export CSV or Export XLSX in the toolbar next to Import invoices.
- The file downloads with the invoices currently shown (matching the active status/overview-card filter).
Advanced export from Settings
- Go to Settings → Import / Export (
/dashboard/settings/import-export). - Choose a format (CSV or XLSX).
- Optionally filter by status, customer, or accounting source, or turn on Filter by date range to filter by due date or created date.
- Click Generate export to download the file.
If no invoices match your filters, you'll see a message instead of an empty file.
What you'll see
- Exported files include invoice reference, customer details, due date, amounts, currency, status, promise/dispute/reminder fields, source, and timestamps.
invoice_dateis only populated for spreadsheet-imported invoices.- If filters match zero rows, the UI shows a "No invoices match" message instead of downloading an empty file.
What happens next
Use the file in spreadsheets or operational reporting. Refine filters and regenerate exports when you need a narrower subset.
Common problems
- No export buttons available — your current plan does not include invoice export.
- No file downloaded — check if the result set was empty or if your browser blocked download.
- Too many rows — narrow filters if export size exceeds platform limits.
A note on the XLSX file
The XLSX file includes column filters (autofilter) and sensible column widths. The header row is not frozen — this is a known limitation of the spreadsheet library PaidSoon uses, not a bug.
